RIG/SCULPTURE By Kevin Carhart Q: What do I do? A: Choose "image" from the pull-down list in the upper left, then hit Submit. Q: What is that? A: It's a random image. Q: I don't like that one, can I replace it? A: Yes, hit "reload" in your browser and that image will be overwritten with another one. Q: Now what? A: Type something in the text field just to the right of the pull-down list. A caption, a piece of dialogue or something suggested by the image, or whatever. Then press Submit. Q: I want to see some examples of that. A: Go to the very bottom of the screen and follow the link to "View gallery." Q: I chose an example from the gallery but it's mostly broken. A: Pick one off the top and it will be intact. Any new ones that are added to the gallery from now on, will remain intact. But I left peoples' older contributions up. Q: I played around with RIG/Sculpture for a while and came up with something that I like! Can I preserve my masterpiece? A: Yes, scroll down to the section marked "Submit your creation to the gallery." Fill out the fields if you want to, then press "Add it." Your sculpture has been saved for posterity. Please exercise some restraint in submitting a sculpture to the permanent gallery. Currently all submissions get added, and I may take some down if they are just shock for shock's sake. Depending on the quality of future submissions, I might switch to a system of reviewing each submission before adding it, so please don't abuse the openness of the RIG/Sculpture. Q: Can I go right to the gallery without going to the main RIG/Sculpture page first? A: Sure, just load http://carhart.com/cgi-bin/RIG/galleryindex.pl Q: What are those other choices in the pull-down list, like "noun","verb"? A: You can make random words in addition to images. Pick the part of speech you want to create and press Submit. Q: Why was my entry removed? A: I'm glad to be getting the occasional visitor to my application, but recent entries (10/05) have been going in the gutter. The messages in your entries reflect on me- It's my site - so I will be deciding whether an entry gets into the permanent gallery. Send feedback and other email to kevin@carhart.com
